Modern Valentine's Banner

When do you start decorating?  I usually start decorating about mid-January.  I hung up my Glitter Heart canvas from last year together with some heart lights I picked up from the Target dollar bin.  I still have a few more things I want to add before it's complete.

I can't ever get enough of garland and banners.  I bought these wooden pennants from Pick Your Plum well over a year ago.  I've used them for several projects.  And what's great is I can reuse them - just flip them over!

So, I sat down one night at my son's Spiderman table and put together this modern "True Love" banner.

I kinda wanted to mix modern with traditional this year.  I'm loving the black and pink together.  Like I said, I sat down at my son's Spiderman table (the hubby was using the dining room table to look at a new soundboard), I turned on a new show (House of Cards) and crafted away.

I didn't really take photos but I just added some Elmer's glue (or Mod Podge) to one side and laid it down on the opposite side of the paper.  Let it try (or get close enough) and then use an x-acto knife and carefully cut around the edges.  The hardest part was cutting out the circles.  Just go slowly.  I added some foam letters I had on hand, strung some twine through and it was all done.  Easy peasy.

I have it on my chalkboard in the kitchen.  Not sure if that's where it will stay.  After the holidays, it's going in our bedroom.

I'm currently working on a modern wreath.  Hope to see you soon!

Very pretty! I love pink and black. BTW I got your comment about not being able to reply to me. Which I thought was totally weird, I've have my email attached to my profile since I got on blogger and never came up as No Reply before! The only thing I can think is that something got switched when I changed over to Google+. I looked at your tutorial but mu profile is a Google+ profile so the tips no longer work as my profile is so different. But I think I found where it might have been changed, the box clicked for only sharing my email with my circles was checked and not public. I changed it to public and I wondered if you would mind taking a minute to reply to this comment to let me know if it shows up as No Reply, or as I hope, you can reply directly. Thank you for your help!
