Valentine's Kids' Crafts & Fun Food

Hosea & I have had a lot of fun the past ten days or so counting down to Valentine's Day!  We've done several crafts and made some fun food that I wanted to share with you.

First, I let him decorate some of the cute mailboxes you can get from Target's Dollar Spot.

We put them beside our Valentine's Countdown and every day (alright most days) he has some "mail" which includes a Bible verse about love to read and an activity or craft to do.

One of our crafts was to make his grandparents a Valentine's gift.  One Artsy Mama's Fingerprint Frame reminded me that I had some craft frames I'd been saving.  So I pulled them out and let Hosea paint them all by himself.  Then I had some shapes (only one heart) that he applied glue to and then glitter.  I attached the heart and circle using wood glue overnight.  He had a lot of fun doing this.

I took an adorable picture of the kids, and we gave them to his grandparents.

Then we did a couple of crafts.  I followed Martha Stewarts Crayon Hearts tutorial and we made a big heart to hang in the window.  This is maybe a craft for a little older kids.  I had to make the shavings for him but he put them all down and then cut the heart out himself once I drew it for him.

I always love doing the next craft for holidays and I've switched it up a few times.  Normally I use tissue paper squares or construction paper and attach it to contact paper to form a design.  This time I decided to let him glue down pieces of red wrapping paper.  He liked this and this is an easy project for any age.

And lastly, we made some heart cupcakes together.  All you need to do is put a marble or some of those glass vase filler stones outside each cupcake liner to create a heart shape.  Only fill them up about 2/3 full because the fuller they are, the less pronounced the heart shape will be.

I put a little message on the plate for him.

Then I made a heart shaped pizza using an english muffin.  Coat the already-shaped muffin with pizza sauce, add some cheese and some mini pepperonis.  Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.  SO cute!! Again, add a cute message.

All of this is cute and easy stuff using items that you probably have on hand already.  Have you done any fun stuff for Valentine's with your kiddos?

Thanks for reading.  See you soon!

Aww, all these projects are so cute! My personal favorite would have to be the heart shaped pizza though ;) I love english muffin pizzas!
