Valentine's Decor

I think this is the third year I've decorated for Valentine's Day.  Now that I have little people in the house, it seems fun to decorate for everything now.  So, here's my Valentine's "Mantel".

Here's how to make your own.

Glitter Heart Canvas

You can see my tutorial for the Glitter Heart Canvas here.

Fabric Scraps Garland

First grab some fabric you want to use.  I went to Joann's and bought 4 coordinating fabrics but use whatever you have on-hand if you don't want to spend any extra money.   Cut your fabric into 1 inch strips (or however wide you want it) and into the length you want it.  To make mine, I had roughly 75-100 strips.

Then you want to turn your fabric wrong side up and cross one "tail" over the other.  Put your ribbon or rope on top (I do mine upside down for whatever reason but it doesn't matter which way you turn it, just be consistent), bring the "tails" up (or down in my case) through the hole (make sense?), pull down until it looks like a tie.  Then pull tight and move into place.  This is really easy to do this while watching your favorite show.

For the LOVE banner, I had some wooden triangle pendants I got from Pick Your Plum months and months ago.  This was beyond easy.  I just cut out some letters on my Cameo but cut them out yourself or use some chipboard letters if you don't have a digital cutting machine.  I strung the pendants onto some string and then used the fabric from my fabric garland in between each pendant.  I also used some burlap strips to bring out the burlap from the wreaths.

 Love how that turned out!!

Vine Wreath

I picked up these vine wreaths in the Dollar Spot at Target in the Fall.  I knew I wanted to keep them simple so I took a strip of burlap and wrapped it around a side.  I then took some cupcake liners (same liners from my Valentine's Bunting) and made them into a flower.  I kind of just winged this but here's  a great tutorial from Raising Up Rubies.  I hot-glued them onto the burlap.  Then I wanted to bring out some red since I had a lot of pink going on so I used red and white ribbon to hang them up.

I really like the simplicity of these.

That's about it!  I really like how this all came together.

Are you finished decorating for Valentine's Day?  Or have you even started?  I'd love to see what you've been up to.  Leave me a link so I can visit.

Thanks for reading and see you soon!!
