DIY Glitter Heart Canvas

I fell in love with my Glitter Deer Canvas and knew I needed to make something for Valentine's Day.  Fair warning, you may see a glitter canvas from me for the rest of the holidays this year.  :-)

Simple but cute, right?  Ready to make your own?  It's easy, I promise.

Grab a canvas.  Even though the canvas was white, I spray painted it just to make sure it was crisp.  Then I used my Silhouette to cut out my design on vinyl.  This is such a simple design that you could easily just print out a heart shape online and then trace it out yourself using an X-Acto knife.  Next attach the "negative" of your vinyl to the canvas.  Then add some glue.  I used plain 'ole Elmer's school glue but Mod Podge would work fine and I imagine spray adhesive would work too.  Then liberally apply your glitter.  I basically dumped a giant bottle of glitter on the canvas and was surprised at how little I really needed.  Then I placed my canvas in a baking sheet to shake off the extra glitter.  Take off the vinyl (I did this immediately) and you're finished!

I always use hairspray to "set" the glitter and it has worked great!

And here it is hanging up with my Valentine's Day wall decor.  I'll be sharing the rest of it later this week.

Thanks for stopping by and see you soon!!
